“Saorsa,” meaning freedom in Gaelic, reflects my mission to free menopause from stigma, silence and misunderstanding. We combine evidence-based education with a compassionate, practical approach, helping organisations build confidence, inclusion and compliance.
My motivation for this work is personal. I experienced years of undiagnosed perimenopause while working in an environment with no menopause awareness or support in place. The impact on my health and confidence left me vulnerable and close to losing my job. I now do this work to be the support I needed when I was trying to understand what was happening to my body and brain.
With a background in risk and workplace culture, I’m passionate about aligning wellbeing with business strategy. Through Saorsa, I support employers to design their Menopause Action Plans to ensure they’re not only compliant with, but proactive in their approach to current legislation requirements. By guiding employers through policy development, reporting structures, and cultural engagement, I help them move beyond tick-box exercises to create workplaces that genuinely support women’s health and wellbeing.
We also recognise that while larger employers are compelled to comply with the Employment Rights Act 25, many businesses want to do the right thing and create a culture where every employee feels valued and supported.
We achieve this through interactive workshops, line manager training, and menopause champion programmes that embed awareness and inclusion into workplace culture. Our sessions build empathy, knowledge, and confidence across all levels of staff, while my strategic guidance helps leadership teams design policies and action plans that deliver lasting change.
As a social enterprise, we’re proud to reinvest in projects that support vulnerable women and communities. By combining education with strategy, Saorsa enables workplaces not only to meet compliance standards but to champion genuine inclusion and wellbeing.
