Menopause coaching guide
A menopause coach can help with practical planning, confidence, lifestyle habits, work conversations and navigating midlife change. Coaching is different from medical care: it should not diagnose symptoms, prescribe treatment or replace advice from a GP, pharmacist, menopause specialist or qualified clinician.

What menopause coaching may help with
Menopause coaching is usually focused on practical support rather than diagnosis or treatment. A coach may help you organise your thoughts, understand your goals and build realistic next steps around day-to-day challenges.
- Confidence, identity and self-esteem during midlife
- Sleep routines, stress management and habit changes
- Preparing for GP, clinic or workplace conversations
- Managing work, boundaries, communication and overwhelm
- Exploring lifestyle, wellbeing and support options
- Staying accountable with agreed goals between sessions
What a menopause coach should not do
Coaching can sit alongside clinical care, but it is not a replacement for it. Unless the coach is also a qualified healthcare professional acting within that role, they should not tell you what is causing symptoms, advise you to start or stop medication, or make treatment decisions for you.
If you have new, severe or worrying symptoms, unusual bleeding, pain, chest symptoms, sudden weakness, suicidal thoughts, or questions about HRT or other medicines, speak with a GP, pharmacist, NHS 111 or an appropriate qualified clinician.

Frequently asked questions
Is a menopause coach a medical professional?
Not necessarily. Some coaches may also have clinical qualifications, but coaching itself is not the same as medical care. Check each provider’s professional background and scope before booking.
Can a menopause coach help with HRT?
A coach may help you prepare questions for a GP, pharmacist or menopause specialist, but they should not prescribe HRT or tell you to start, stop or change medication unless they are a qualified prescriber acting within that role.
Is online menopause coaching suitable?
Online coaching may be suitable for practical support, planning and accountability. Check whether the provider works online, in person or both, and whether their approach fits your needs.
How much does a menopause coach cost in the UK?
Fees vary depending on the provider, session length, package structure and whether support is one-to-one, group-based or workplace-focused. Always check prices before booking.
